Mallory said all ages and families are welcome. Registration begins at the corner of Elm and Center streets at 7 a.m.  The course covers the Tidewater Bike Path between Center Street and Northgate Drive in north Manteca.

More than 300 walkers and runners are expected.

The pre-registration deadline is Friday, March 21. Advance registration can be done by logging onto www.localfoodbank.org/news-events.  Pre-registration is $15 for individuals and $45 for a family of four. All advance registrants will receive T-shirts. Race day registration is $20 for individuals and $50 for a family of four. T-shirts will be included for race day registration as long as the supply lasts.

The run is being held in conjunction with the Manteca Visitors Bureau’s downtown Crossroads Street Fair. Runners are urged to allow plenty of time for parking due to countless vendors and activities in the area.

The one mile run will take off from Center Street and continue on the Tidewater Bike Path to Alameda Street reversing the course at the one mile mark and retrace the route and finish back at the starting location.

The course of the 5K run will also be started at Center Street, cross Alameda Avenue and continue on the bike path turning around at the 5K mark, also retracing its route on the bike path, crossing Louise  and Alameda streets and finishing at the start location.

The top finishers in each race and in each category will receive their awards at the gazebo in Library Park at 10 a.m. at the conclusion of the two events.
