Day 64

Back to the grind: Sleep, eat, go to work and workout. It felt good to be back in the gym tonight. Sometimes it’s nice to do the workout when you’re not completely sore from the previous day’s workout.

Day 65

I did a dead lift for the first time ever in my life. I’m not sure if I’m a fan of them or not, but will definitely be sore tomorrow. Or, it’s possible that I will be sore from the millions of squats and lunges, or the wall sits or tire jumps. It was definitely one of the most challenging workouts so far.

Day 66

Not too bad on the soreness level waking up, but as the day moved on the stiffness started to settle in. The workout tonight though took the stiffness right out of me and definitely got the heart rate up. We got to play “Duck, Duck, Goose” tonight. However, in all my years of playing this game I’ve never had to do sit-ups while waiting to be picked! And guess what? I wasn’t picked – and I have never been so excited not to be picked in all my life because that would have meant that I would’ve had to sprint around the circle. And that circle was big.

Day 67

Just when you think you’re back in the swing of things, life gets in the way. I am really trying to make a healthy lifestyle a top priority, but there are things in your life called children and job.

Day 68

Headed to Los Angeles for a three-day volleyball tournament. I’m not as confident heading into this trip as I was a week ago when I went to San Diego. There will be team dinners and times when you have to eat on the go. I should have been better prepared heading into the weekend, but I’m not.

Day 69

I ate pretty well today and walked a bunch in between games, but then when it was time to eat dinner at 9 p.m. I was starving and my daughter wanted pasta. So we went to a cute little Italian restaurant. My husband ordered pizza (ugh!), my daughter ordered spaghetti and meatballs (double ugh!), and I ordered some chicken, mushroom, pasta dish that I shouldn’t have. Not only was it not a good choice, it tasted horrible. But I ate more than I should have including a piece of pizza. Triple ugh!

Day 70

I start my day off right with some oatmeal and blueberries, promising myself that today would be different after the pasta fiasco. I even told my husband and daughter that we were not eating any Italian food or pasta. OK, that commitment lasted until the team decided to eat at Buca di Beppo. Family style Italian food … carb heaven! Let’s just say I failed miserably tonight and that tomorrow is a new day. I am drinking tons of water tonight though, hoping to wash away some of this food.
