Destiny Harper wants a Pixie game for Christmas.

The 7-year-old local youngster asked Santa for the game, described by her mother, Edith, as “pieces that attach together like a keychain” Wednesday at his downtown Manteca site located in the corner of Yosemite Avenue and Main Street.

Destiny also had animals on her list.

Her father, John, also came to see Santa Claus. He recently purchased 10 acres of land and would like to get a tractor for Christmas.

“It’ll probably be a small (toy) tractor,” he joked.

Santa – he’s actually Ben Jetton, who has been working at the popular downtown site for the last three years – heard plenty of wishes since Dec. 5.

“A lot of them asked for a (Nintendo) DS or an Xbox (video game systems),” he said. “I was surprised that someone wanted a Hula Hoop.”
Jetton indicated there are some wishes made by youngsters that really make you think twice.

“I’ve had kids as young as 9 and 10 ask for world peace,” he said.

Another wanted a home.

“It was a little girl,” Jetton recalled. “She didn’t have a home.”

Meanwhile, Santa will close up shop in Manteca at 5 p.m. today.
