Manteca Police officer John Moody spotted a stolen 1992 Honda Civic near John McFall School on Hoyt Lane about 3 p.m. Wednesday.  He and other officers arrested the driver and two passengers for auto theft, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Moody, formerly assigned to DELTARAT – the regional auto theft task force – said the car had been stolen in Tracy.  A CHP sergeant had spotted the car on Tuesday but reportedly lost sight of it. The Manteca officer said he noticed the vehicle had no front license plate with only a dealer’s paper advertising plate on the rear.

Clyde Irwin Mau, 23, was arrested for auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle, police said.   He was also wanted on a “no bail” felony warrant for drug violations along with a second felony warrant, officers said.   There was reportedly a misdemeanor warrant for assault.

Gena Renee Johnson, 39, and Alexis Morgan Perea, 19, were jailed for possession of a stolen vehicle.  Johnson was found to have three 8-inch throwing knives in her purse bringing a charge of possession of a concealed weapon, police said.  All three were transported to San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp Wednesday evening.

Burglary tools were reportedly found in the trunk of the car that included small and medium sized bolt cutters.  Also found in the vehicle were items police said they suspected had been stolen.

They included a Kenwood CD player with freshly cut wires, an 18-volt Dewalt drill, a Senco Pneumatic Palm Nailer, a Kenwood dual 12-inch speaker, a Compact lap top computer and two Tom Tom GPS monitors – one wrapped in a jacket.
