Ripon yard sale May 3

Ripon’s Community Yard Sale is set for Saturday, May 3, at Mistlin Park from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the park on River Road just east of Jack Tone Road.

The sale is held twice each year and is part of the city’s recycling program to promote the reuse, repair and recycling effort in the community. Sale spaces are 10 X 19 in size. Residents are asked to bring their own tables. A maximum of three spaces are allowed.

Ripon residents are being charged $5 per space and non-residents’ $10. Registration forms and the appropriate fees are to be sent to the Public Works Department at City Hall, 259 N. Wilma Ave., no later than May 1, at 5 p.m. The registration forms may be dropped in the afterhours utility payment box in front of the City Hall building or placed in the mail.

Check-in time the morning of the sale is 5:30 a.m. at the front entrance to the park with proof of the required confirmation of registration. There will be no selling of large quantities of new items or the sales of food products. Ripon Boy Scouts are going to be manning a food booth at the south end of the parking lot near the entrance. A donation truck will be onsite for any unsold items sellers would wish to donate after tearing down their booths.

Ripon residents may receive a refund of their registration fee if their spaces are left clean and free of debris. Refunds may be picked up no later than May 8 with non-refunds going to support the 2014 Fireworks fund.
