The Fiore family that owns Center Appliance is betting that good things will start happening at the northern end of the Main Street corridor once the new Lathrop Road and Highway 99 interchange opens next year.

They have submitted a request to the city to split 7.8 acres of commercial bordered by Crestwood Avenue, Lathrop Road, and North Main Street into five parcels. The family built a new Center Appliance showroom and warehouse facing Crestwood when their previous location on North Main Street was torn down to make room for interchange improvements.

Developers also believe the northwest corner of that interchange could one day see a significant commercial shopping center built.

If nothing else, it provides another area that could be populated with duplicate fast food joints.
