William “Bill” Perry Sr.

William “Bill” Perry Sr., 85, entered into rest on January 27, 2009 in Manteca,

He was born on June 13, 1923 in Manteca to Mr. and Mrs. Edward O. and Angela Perry. He joins his parents as well as his sister in heaven, Marjorie Perry.

Mr. Perry is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Clydene Perry; and Children; Veronica Seamas and husband Joe of Manteca, William Perry Jr. and wife Christi of Manteca, and Nicole Hixson and husband Jeremy of Manteca. He was also blessed by 8 grandchildren all of Manteca; Angela Seamas, William Perry III, Sarah Perry, Andrew Perry, David  Perry, Lance Elliott, Michael Elliott and Matthew Elliott.

Mr. Perry grew up in Manteca attending Lindbergh elementary school and graduating from Manteca High School in 1940. After high school Bill attended the College of Pacific in Stockton. In 1941 Bill joined the Army Air Corps fighting for his country in WWII. After the war Bill moved back to Manteca continuing his education at University of San Francisco. In 1960 Bill ultimately started his career in Real-Estate as a Broker and retired after 30 years in business. Bill had a passion for his community and served as city councilman for 11 years. He served on the City Council in 1983 and retired from business in 1987.  In the mid 1990s Bill was voted in as Mayor of Manteca, serving one term. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Escalon and attended St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Mr. Perry’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be on Monday, February 2, from 1 to 7 p.m. at P.L .Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road,  Manteca. Rosary will follow at 7 p.m. also held at P.L .Fry & Son Funeral Home. A Mass will be held Tuesday, February 3, at 1 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 525 E. North St. Manteca. Burial will be strictly private.
