The Manteca Unified School announced with great pride that French Camp School is exiting from the program improvement status under the federal mandate, Title I.

On Tuesday, the school board will recognize the rural school at the district office at 2271 W. Louise Ave. for its accomplishment prior to the 7 p.m. open session.

French Camp went through a restructuring a few years ago, in part, due to struggling test scores.

The celebration of the exit report is scheduled to take place about half-hour prior to the monthly meeting.

Other agenda items include:

•Recognizing Sierra High’s successful football campaign under the reports by Superintendent Jason Messer.

•The board considering the audit report for the 2008-09 school year as provided by Xiupin Y. Guillaume, CPA for Vavrinek, Trine, Day and Company, LLP.

•Trustees discussing and possibly giving direction on the school bus light protocol.

For more information, call the district office at (209) 825-3200 or log on to the website,
