Graduation for Ripon High’s Class of 2014 is scheduled for Thursday, May 29, at Stouffer Field.

Leading the way for the 7 p.m. commencement ceremonies are valedictorian Abigail Waters and salutatorian MacKenzie Gauden.

Classmates will convene earlier that day for the mandatory graduation practice at 8:30 a.m. in the RHS Multi-Purpose Room.

The senior class breakfast is scheduled from 7 to 9.

Meanwhile, Ripon Unified’s eighth-grade class promotional exercises are planned for Wednesday, May 28, including:

• Ripon Elementary, 7 p.m. at the Ripon High School Multi-Purpose Room.

• Park View, 7 p.m. inside the school’s Multi-Purpose Building.

• Ripona, 7 p.m. inside the school’s Multi-Purpose Building.

• Colony Oak, 7 p.m. inside the school’s Multi-Purpose Building.

• Weston, 7 p.m. inside the school’s Multi-Purpose Building.

Weston is scheduled for temporary closure soon after to make way for construction as part of voter-approved Measure G modernization.

Demolition of the school site is planned for this summer.

Students, teachers and staff will be spread out from throughout the district for the upcoming school year, according to the plan.

If all goes accordingly, Weston will re-open late July 2015.
