The Festa do Espirito Santo Manteca officially launched the 2010 Manteca crab feed season that offers a benefit event every Saturday – except one – through the end of February.

The FESM crab feed took place Saturday. If that wasn’t enough for you or else you are hankering for crab, dancing, and good company there are a number of other options:

The meal consists of crab, baked potato, bread, salad, bread, and wine. Tickets are $40 apiece.

No-host cocktails are from 6 to 7 p.m. while dinner is at 7 p.m. followed by dancing from 9 p.m. to midnight.

The Manteca Fighters Association is manning the bar as well as offering free rides afterwards.

Tickets are available from any Boys & Girls Club board member or contacting the club at 239-KIDS.

•NILE GARDEN SCHOOL COMMUNITY CLUB: The Nile Garden School Community Club will be holding their 40th annual Crab Dinner Dance on Saturday, Jan. 23, at the MRPS Hall in Manteca.

The social hour is at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. with music and dancing from 9 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $35 per person and you must be 21 to attend.  For tickets call Stacie Silveira at 209-823-4025.

If you don’t like crab you can request a steak in advance.

The $40 ticket covers dinner – marinated crab, plain crab, pasta, French bread, anti-pasta, and dessert – as well as dancing. This is one of the few crab feeds with a live band. Playing will the classic rock band The Vine Dawgz from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. There is also a no-host bar.
