LATHROP - Three shots rang out from a gunman wearing a ski mask in the 12000 block of Harlan Road at about 9 p.m. Monday with one man being hit in the groin and the side of his body, deputies reported.

Two suspects were reportedly seen by witnesses entering a home at 12796 Harlan Road adjacent to a shuttered trucking company.  Sheriff’s deputies arrived within minutes and surrounded the house learning a 23-year-old Hispanic woman was hiding in a bedroom closet after she called a 911 dispatcher. She kept in contact with deputies throughout the standoff at the residence.

Deputies set up a perimeter around the house and while calling to the suspects on a bull horn to come out while keeping an open line with the petrified woman.  The condition of the gunshot victim was not immediately known.

The suspect with the ski mask was described by witnesses as being dressed all in black and the second suspect was said to be about 5-foot-2 and weighing about 150 pounds.  He was also dressed all in black.

As deputies on the scene awaited the arrival of the SWAT team they were able to clear the laundry room, family room, a hall way and part of the kitchen.

Deputies closed off traffic at two intersections on Harlan Road including at Roth Road.
