   Jack Braitman, 62, passed away peacefully at home in Manteca on June 14, 2014. Jack was born October 9, 1951, in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Joseph and Rena Braitman.
   Mr. Braitman is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Joyce (Kroll) Braitman; sons, Daniel Braitman (Jennifer) of Waddell, AZ, Sam Braitman of Salida, CA, Jimmy Braitman of Surprise, AZ, daughter Katie Braitman of Stockton, CA, brothers, Bob Braitman and Alex Braitman both of Indianapolis, IN. Jack was blessed with two grandchildren; Isabella and Jackson Braitman. In addition, he has twenty nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
   Jack was a resident of Manteca for 29 years and formerly of Illinois and Indiana. He attended schools in Indianapolis, IN and Indiana University. He worked for Social Security for over 39 years until retirement in 2011. As his children were growing up Jack stayed thoroughly involved with their sports where he was a coach for his sons’ basketball, baseball and soccer teams for many years.  After retirement, Jack made a decision to make a healthy lifestyle change as he became an avid bike rider and logged thousands of miles; he was truly proud of his accomplishments through the transformation. For the past few years he also worked part time for the Manteca Unified School District as a classroom aide. Jack was an admirable and generous man who was always supportive and proud of his children and grandchildren. His love for his family was unconditional. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a wonderful father and an amazing grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A rosary will be held on Friday June 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a prayer service at Sequoia Heights Church,1050 South Union Rd., Manteca, CA.  He will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, 17871 S. Carrolton Rd., Escalon, CA. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Delta Humane Society of Stockton or Give Every Child a Chance–Manteca, CA.
