Pedro Ramirez, 30, of Turlock has been arrested by Ripon police for allegedly drugging and raping a coworker at a restaurant on Jack Tone Road near Highway 99 while they were both at work, police said.

First Sergeant Steve Merchant said they were employed at Carl’s Jr. when the incident reportedly took place back in April. Detectives were delayed in their efforts to find the suspect because he had apparently used false identification information when being hired.

Ripon detectives turned Ramirez over to the U.S. Immigration Service investigators after his arrest. Merchant said the case is being forwarded to the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office for review. Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact the detectives at the Ripon Police Department at 209.599.2102.
