Gioffre boys lift Sea Lions to win

RIPON – It must be good to be a Gioffre. 

Jack, Logan and Michael Gioffre accounted for eight individual victories, highlighting another strong performance from the Ripon Sea Lions in a 1,869-1,634 victory over the Ceres Dolphins on Saturday.

Jack and Logan Gioffre left no doubts in this Mid-Valley Swim League dual meet at the Ervin Zador Aquatics Center, sweeping their individual programs and lifting the boys to their first meet win of the season. 

Jack Gioffre, 9, claimed victories in the 50 butterfly, 50 breaststroke and 50 free. Logan Gioffre, 12, was first to the wall in the 100 freestyle, 50 backstroke and 50 freestyle.

Michael Gioffre, 10, was tops in the 100 individual medley and 50 backstroke.

They were just the tip of the sword for the talent-laden Sea Lions. 

Joining Jack and Logan Gioffre with three victories were: Rylee Beidleman, 11, girls (100 individual medley, 50 butterfly, 50 breaststroke); Madeline Curtiss, 6, girls (50 freestyle, 25 butterfly, 25 breaststroke); Ian Howells, 17, boys (100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 50 freestyle); and Jacob Thompson, 13, boys (100 individual medley, 100 freestyle, 50 butterfly).

Multiple event winners for the Sea Lions were: Amelia Bacay, 11, girls (100 freestyle, 50 backstroke); Sam Branco, 6, boys (50 freestyle, 25 freestyle); Benjamin Corgiat, 6, boys (25 butterfly, 25 backstroke); Rachel Crew, 18, girls (100 freestyle, 50 butterfly); Owen Curtiss, 8, boys (25 butterfly, 25 breaststroke); Andria Martin, 14, girls (100 individual medley, 50 backstroke); Rosie Vaughn, 18, girls (100 individual medley, 50 breaststroke); and Chloe Winter, 14, girls (100 freestyle, 50 free).
