Manteca High senior Chandler Rose, 17, was saluted by the Manteca Rotary Club at its Thursday noon meeting at Isadore’s Restaurant as its student of the month.

Chandler was joined at the luncheon by a school administrator Kathy Ruble and her health careers class instructor Cheryl Behler, LVN, bringing applause from club members.

The Manteca High senior plans to be a science major next year with hopes of attending the University of New Haven in Connecticut on her way to becoming an anesthesiologist.

She was described by her teacher as being bright, and energetic as well as compassionate and genuinely well rounded.  Her grades have been consistently above average in the ROP Health Care Careers class as well as in her other subjects.

Chandler was lauded for demonstrating effective leadership skills needed to excel in the health care field, and she has chaired many fund raisers for the Health Occupation Students of America Club.  At the Safe Halloween event Chandler planned and built the “Haunted House” that was held in the Sequoia elementary School multipurpose room.

“She has demonstrated time and again that she is a true leader and will excel at anything she put her mind to,” her instructor said.
