Song of the San Joaquin poetry reading set for Aug. 2

MODESTO – Poets from Central California and the Sacramento area will read their poems at the presentation of “Song of the San Joaquin”, Summer Issue, Vol. XI, #3, Saturday, August 2, from 1 to 3 p.m., in the Downstairs Auditorium of the Stanislaus County Library, 1500 “I” St. in Modesto.

Visiting poets include Emily Strauss of Sunnyvale, Dan Williams of Wawona, Lawrence Di Costanzo of Albany, Michael Meinhoff of Coarsegold, Jennifer Lagier of Marina, veRONica Jackson of Sacramento and Charles Mariano of Sacramento.

The event is presented by Poets of the San Joaquin, the Stanislaus County Library, and Friends of the Library. The reading is free and appropriate for all ages. Light refreshments are provided.
