The appointment of Manteca High Assistant Principal Raul Mora as the successor of East Union High principal John Alba who retired in June left an open position at the Buffalo campus.

Stepping up to that vacancy is Troy Fast. He is not a new face on campus. Prior to his promotion, he was the school’s vice principal.

He is not the only one to occupy a new position at the start of the school year 2014-15. Several schools in the district will be seeing new faces in their vice principal’s office as well.

The new appointments, which had to be approved by the Board of Trustees, were announced at the last meeting of the Board of Trustees last week when those who were present were introduced.

Below are the board-approved vice principals and their new assignments:

Jacalyn Davis – Great Valley School in Weston Ranch. She was previously a teacher with New Jerusalem School District in Tracy.

Inderjit Dhillon – The former school district program coordinator will be the vice principal 40 percent of the time at New Haven School, and 60 percent at Sequoia Elementary.

Katie Egleston – the former assistant principal with Keyes Union School District will be dividing her time in that role at two schools as well – 40 percent at Nile Garden and 60 percent at Shasta Elementary.

Julie Smith – The former Common  Core Standard coordinator with Manteca Unified will divide her time equally between French Camp Elementary and Golden West School in Manteca.

Randi Sousa, a former program coordinator with Manteca Unified, likewise will equally divide her time as vice principal at Lincoln Elementary and Joshua Cowell School.
