After two terms, Ripon Unified school board President Donna Parks will call it a wrap.

She indicated just that at Monday’s school board meeting.

Chad Husky, instead, will seek her Area 1 seat. He’s served on a variety of committees including the Citizens’ Measure G Committee.

Come November, Husky, who is listed as an I.T. solution architect, will run unchallenged for that post, according to the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters office in Stockton.

The filing period concluded Friday.

Christopher ‘Kit’ Oase and Ernie Tyhurst will also be unopposed on the ballot for Ripon Unified Area 3 and Area 2, respectively.

Both incumbents were catalysts behind the newly redistricted areas – each of the five seats here represents close to same numbers of people throughout RUSD based on the 2010 U.S. Census. Voters, at least this year, will select at-large on each of those in the running for a school board seat.

They’ll also have a chance to change it to a trustee-only area format.

In the Ripon City Council race, incumbent Dean Uecker along with Michael Restuccia and Shane Smith are vying for the two seats up for grabs.

Mayor Chuck Winn made his post available when he opted for the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisor.  He’s in a runoff with Lodi business owner Russ Munson to represent District 4.

Restuccia is a financial institution examiner not to mention former mayor and councilman.

Smith is an educator and businessman.
