Sierra High’s sophomore basketball team jumped out on the visiting Lathrop Spartans and never relinquished, rolling to a 58-46 Valley Oak League win Wednesday.

Tim Thornton paced the Timberwolves with 18, while teammate Joseph Berry fin9ished with 12.

“We were able to build a lead early with good defense and good execution on the offensive end,” Sierra head coach Justin Muschott said. “I don’t like giving up 22 fourth quarter points, but everyone got to play a lot of minutes and everyone contributed to the win.”
