Kristen Piasecki scored all 12 of East Union High’s fourth-quarter points Thursday, but it wasn’t enough in a 52-39 loss to visiting Oakdale in Valley Oak League sophomore girls basketball action.

Piasecki finished with 19 points to lead the Squires (8-4, 13-9 overall), who fell further behind league-leading and undefeated Sonora with four regular-season games to go. Klasey Kachalkin added eight points for EU.

Oakdale built a 14-9 lead going into the second quarter, and its 15-6 third-quarter run had the Mustangs well ahead, 45-27.

Blanca Lava led three Mustangs in double figures with 19 points.
