Need to act now on health care

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

We’re about to lose the opportunity to reform health care if we, as a whole, don’t act now.

Stories abound about people who have lost family members because they can’t get health insurance due to “pre-existing conditions.”  This is an example of greed on the part of insurance companies and ought to be against the law.  Think about it.  A new federal study shows that health care spending rose to an estimated $2.5 trillion in 2009, or $8,047 per person, and is now projected to nearly double by 2019.  We can’t wait until later to deal with this problem.  We need to act now.
