“Select San Joaquin” is a partnership of San Joaquin County, San Joaquin Farm Bureau, local schools, Rancho San Miguel, and Food 4 Less grocery store chains. The primary goals of this program are to: 1) educate County residents to the variety, quality, availability and health benefits of locally grown produce, 2) increase the economic opportunities of agriculture in San Joaquin County hence increasing the overall economic base of the County, and; 3) educate and encourage area school-age children on the health and taste appeal of locally-grown produce.
Since its inception five years ago, “Select San Joaquin” has enjoyed great success.
