Rose is survived by her daughter, LaDean Talcott of Manteca. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Kent and Becky Talcott of Sebastopol, Paul and Maria Talcott of Carmichael; her three great-grandchildren, Ben, Taylor, and Gina Talcott; one sister, Eva Schmitt, who lives in Billings, Montana and her brother, Oswald Kaul of Vancouver, WA.
Those who knew Rose will remember her as an expert cook who loved to entertain. She was an avid gardener with a definite green thumb. Rose was also an accomplished seamstress and had a special talent for doing arts and crafts. Most of all she treasured spending time with her family and friends.
Perhaps the best words to describe Rose come from a biography written last year by her great-grandson, Ben Talcott. “GG is kind, generous, has a lot of respect for me, and is fun to be with. She is awesome!” He added some special words just the night before her last birthday including how she helped him to be a better person and taught him to be respectful to his parents.
There will be a celebration of life for Rose at the Manteca Merrill Gardens on Saturday, April 10, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The family requests that any donations in her memory be given to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204-1953 or a charity of your choice.
