Carnival starts Wednesday at Orchard Valley

The Crossroads Street Fair carnival opens Wednesday and runs through Sunday at The Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley.

Discount tickets are on sale through Wednesday at 5 p.m. for the Crossroads Street Fair Carnival taking place at The Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley.

Books featuring 35 tickets are available for $15 at the Manteca Visitors Center on Grove Street near the roundabout water feature at Orchard Valley. The discount books will be available this Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Visitors Center that doubles as the office for the Manteca Convention & Visitors Bureau which is the organization staging the street fair.

The actual carnival will be located between JC Penney and Best Buy. The carnival runs from Wednesday, April 7, through, Sunday, April 11. It will run concurrently with the CVB’s downtown street fair on April 10-11. The carnival hours will be noon to 10 a. m. April 7-8 as well as 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. April 9-11.

The 14th annual Crossroads Street Fair has just five vendor spaces left.

The Saturday-Sunday event taking place April 10-11 will along Yosemite Avenue from Library Park to Manteca High. The cost of the booth space is $180 apiece. Information is available by calling 823-7229.

It will include crafters, vendors and food booths as well as non-profits ranging from political organizations to youth football clubs. There also will be new autos, recreational vehicles and “big boy toys” from Delta Power Sports on display both days.

There is a Kids Zone featuring games and rides as well as free entertainment both days.

The Community Emergency Response Team will conduct a safety fair on Saturday and a car show on Sunday.

Entertainment on Saturday includes the Dakota West band from Lodi at 10 a.m.; Soundchek, from Livermore at 11 a.m.; GK Music presents Facade, Amanda Armstrong, and Brieanne Jansen at 1 p.m.; Manteca Youth Focus Entertainers at 2 p.m.; current Manteca Idol title holder   Shellie Hoyt, current Manteca Junior Idol winner Annie Banks as well as Manteca Idol contestants Brieanne Jansen and Kaylie Dotson at 3 p.m.; singer Jordan Waters at 4:30 p.m.; and  GK Music presents Braata, Ben Tolman, and Chelsea Jordan at 5:30 p.m.

Sunday’s line-up includes Launchpad Away at 10 a.m.; Woody Hawkins at 11 a.m.; GK Music presents Zephyr and Neon Ink at noon; Taberna Martial Arts demo at 1 p.m.; singer Amy Dias at 2 p.m.; GK Music presents Braata, Elle’ Lewis and Brieanne Jansen at 3 p.m.; singer Felicia Zapata at 4 p.m.; and The Core Band of Ripon at 4:30 p.m.
