Ripon High staging community open house Thursday evening

House Ripon High School is hosting its first Open House on Thursday, Jan. 28, with the community of Ripon invited as well as parents.

The evening will start at 6:30 p.m. in the North Gym.  There you will receive a map of the school listing the teachers and their classrooms and a list of what each teacher is currently teaching. There will be short presentations from theEnglish Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Science, and Science departments.  They will discuss the sequences of courses and options in their department, expectations of the students, and where the students will be able to go and what they will be able to accomplish upon the completion of the program of study.  

At approximately 7:30 p.m., teachers will be in their classrooms and available to discuss their program and answer any questions you might have.  The evening will end at 8:30 p.m..  Once again this is not just a high school event as they welcome all in the community who would like to learn more about Ripon High School

 

uLATHROP HIGH: Lathrop High’s annual Winterfest Week starts today.

The theme is Mario Kart. Students have been brainstorming, creating and prepping for the events of the week, including, spirit dress-up days for the week. Planned events for this week include Wrestling Senior night on Wednesday and a Lunch Time Carnival with activities on Thursday. Friday is packed, starting with the Winterfest Rally at the end of the school day, a pre-game tailgate, the Winterfest basketball games versus Kimball High School where Prince, Duke Princess and Duchess will be crowned with the Sadie Hawkins dance following the games.

The Robotics/Skills USA club is preparing a robot for the Skills USA regional competition at Delta College on Feb. 6. This is the first time the Robotics Club has participated in an actual competition.

Lathrop High FFA is preparing for one of its various blood drives over the year with the next one taking place today.  

Lathrop High is also getting ready for its annual 8th grade parent night this evening. This is a time for incoming students and their parents to meet teachers and administrators as they give a presentation to see what High School will be like.

 

uMANTECA HIGH: Manteca High is in the process of hosting orientation days for its feeder schools and a parent night for eighth graders.

The first orientation day was Jan. 12 where Leadership and Link Crew hosted Shasta, Woodward, New Haven and Lincoln. 

Today Manteca High will host Golden West, St. Anthony’s, Joshua Cowell and Sequoia. Parent Night is also scheduled for this evening. Parents and students will listen to speakers and have the chance to speak to various clubs, sports teams, and the JROTC in the cafeteria on a one-to-one basis.

The freshman will take part in an assembly on Jan.  29 presented by Dane Blaine. He will address reaching for goals and not being side-tracked.
