Marjorie McNeese

Marjorie Louise McNeese passed away after a long illness in Taos, New Mexico. She was the daughter of the late Pearl and Herman Marcetti. She was born August 24, 1923 in Modesto and grew up in Oakdale.

She leaves behind her long time friend and loving companion Joseph “Pep” Valverde of Manteca, her children and their spouses; Laurel Stevens of Taos, NM, Edward McNeese of Neenah, WI, William McNeese of Baton Rouge, LA, and Brian McNeese of Stockton; sister, Dorothy Smith of Manteca; and grandchildren Michael McNeese, Sara McNeese, Todd Schuman, Brian Schuman, and Scott Schuman.  

While working at Stockton Field, Marjorie met the late Joseph McNeese. They later married at the onset of World War II. She went on to work as a secretary for the County of San Joaquin for many years as well as the Stockton Record in Manteca and the Stockton Municipal Airport from which she retired.  

Marjorie enjoyed gardening, fishing, cruise ship vacations, good food, great friends and listening and dancing to Dixieland Jazz music with Pep. She was active in the Stockton Jazz Society for many years as well as the Manteca Garden Club.

Marjorie was a wonderful woman and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her brother Richard Marcetti and grandson, Tyson McNeese.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at P. L. Fry and Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. Funeral Services will follow on Feb. 12, 2009, 1:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Escalon. In lieu of flowers please send remembrances to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of Northern CA, 105 South Washington Blvd., Lodi. CA 95240. P. L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
