T’Wolves ride seventh inning comeback to win

CERES – Sierra High scored three runs in the top half of the seventh and held Ceres High scoreless in its final at bat for a come-from-behind 7-6 win Friday in Valley Oak League action.

Mike Leland toed the rubber for Sierra, surrendering just five hits and striking out three in the win.

Dominic Alejandre was 2 for 4 in the win, while Austin Acker stroked a key two-out, two-RBI double in the sixth inning. Rodrigo Contreras smashed an RBI double in the seventh, and came around to score on a Jason Angelo bunt for the game winning run.

Sierra (6-2 VOL, 9-6 overall) will be back on the diamond Monday when they play host to the Bulldogs at 4 p.m.

East Union 23, Central Valley 0

CERES – Carynn Moll led a dominant East Union offensive attack, going 3 for 5 in the Lancers’ 23-0 blowout of Central Valley Friday.

The Lancers (7-2 ,14-6) batted around twice in the first inning on their way to 13 runs. The Lancers would not slow up there, pushing across seven more in the third and batting round their lineup once again. Jenny Ketner started for East Union, going three innings and striking out three before giving way to Natalie Large’s perfect two innings of work in relief.

Marleen Rodriguez also had an impressive game, finishing 2 for 4 for East Union and coming across to score twice.
