Red Tie Arts plans Black Friday concert

Jesse Hendricks

POSTED November 13, 2016 7:16 p.m.

Red Tie Arts — a  non-profit that staged concerts this past summer at Ripon’s Lucca Winery — is launching a winter concert series.

Spanish guitarist Jesse Hendricks will kick-off the winter series on Friday, Nov. 25, at 8 p.m. at the Barkin’ Dog Grill, 940 11th Street in Modesto.

Tickets are $25 apiece and are available by going to

Hendricks performed for all four of the Lucca concerts as the musician who played during dinner and the art exhibits. He is dedicated to work with the Spanish Guitar.  His music falls under the category of World Music that is music that combines sounds and rhythms from all over the world, but especially from Spain and South America.

The concert is being billed as the perfect way to relieve the Black Friday blues.

Red Tie Arts was formerly known as John Griswold & Friends. It has now become a non-profit group dedicated to helping underprivileged children excel in the arts.

After a successful summer season with the “Lucca Winery Summer Concert Series” they decided to keep up the momentum with a few Winter Concerts. Red-Tie Arts will be hosting the small intimate concert offerings at the Barkin’ Dog Grill in downtown Modesto, a nice little cafe where they have presented music over the last six years.

Summer concert dates at the Lucca Winery for 2017 are July 3, July 8, Aug. 5, and Sept. 2.

Red Tie Arts does not issue grants directly to the children or parents it helps but will assist with products such as instruments, dance shoes, art supplies and such. In some instance they will help pay for advanced private lessons in order to street children in the direction that “will show them how to accomplish great things.”
