Indians cruise past RC in TVL action

RIPON – The Ripon Indians scored early and often, building a 6-0 lead after just three innings, on their way to an 11-4 Trans Valley League victory over Ripon Christian Monday.

The Indians (3-9 TVL, 12-11) posted three in the first and added two in the second and another in the third on their way to the easy victory.

Paulina Ceja led Ripon’s offensive attack, collecting three hits in her three at bats. Ceja came around to score three times, while teammate Kendra Contente drove in four. Contente was 1 for 4 in the contest and scored twice.

Nicole Kaiser also went 3 for 3, scoring twice and driving in a pair.

Ripon Christian (0-11, 2-16) was led by Katie Thomas’ 2 for 4 performance. Thomas drove in a pair, while RaeAnn DeRousse was 1 for 3 with a RBI. Jessica Myers handled the bulk of the pitching for the Knights, going six innings, giving up five hits and striking five.

Contente went the distance for the Indians, scattering seven hits, walking three and striking out nine in the win.
