MODESTO – Raved by the New York Times as “ingenious and funny,” Chicago City Limits is New York City’s legendary improv comedy show and will appear at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto for two evening performances on Friday, May 14, at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Founded in Chicago in 1977, the Chicago City Limits show combines sketch comedy, musical theater and audience-inspired improvisations. Each performance is a unique collaboration between actors and audience — no two shows are alike. Sketches are as fresh as today’s headlines, taking aim at the faces, places and events of the day.

Tickets range from $17 to $29. A 15% discount is available for groups of 15 or more.  For tickets and more information, visit or call (209) 338-2100.

Chicago City Limits launches the ’09 -’10 touring season with its new improv comedy revue, “Wikiphobia.” The Internet is slowly seeping into every corner of our lives and transforming the world as we know it: “Google” is no longer just a number; “Friend” is no longer just a noun; and user-generated virtual facts are as good as actual, factual facts. In “Wikiphobia,” the cast of Chicago City Limits surfs the web at high-speed, taking issue with the issues and finding comedic links between the biggest stories in the news and actual news.  Whether it’s global warming or global blogging, networking or Netflix, international affairs or interpersonal ones, Chicago City Limits delivers an evening of fast-paced, high-energy comedy!
