Tamra Spade of Ripon and her mother Sharon Silva of Turlock are experiencing a historic exchange of power today between Barrack Obama and Donald Trump on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
It will be Spade’s second inauguration.  Spade, who is the president of the Ripon Chamber of Commerce, attended President Obama’s first inauguration in 2008.
They have had similar careers with Spade first working for a Stanislaus County state senator with both putting in time with the chamber of commerce in their respective communities. Both women have been credited with thinking out of the box in their leadership roles.
Before joining the Ripon chamber, Spade was a senior district representative with the 12th District, California State Senate.  Her position called on her to address the needs of the constituents by working as a liaison between a variety of State of California departments and constituents in order to identify solutions and provide answers to inquiries.  She also handled special project assignments related to the water and education departments.
As the president and CEO of the Turlock chamber, Silva served the business community for 14 years helping new startup businesses find the resources they needed, making the ever-changing human resources laws and regulations easy to understand for long-time operations and advocating at the highest levels of government for the best interests of all the local industries.
Silva’s philosophy of business focused on building relationships and utilizing leadership skills to help others. Spade is currently working toward her Doctorate degree to advance her knowledge and strength in her chosen field.
