Aaron Paschini doesn’t have to score to make his presence felt.

Trans-Valley League coaches took notice.

Ripon’s dynamic guard was voted the league’s Most Valuable Player. The 5-foot-11 Paschini was the sparkplug for the TVL champion and is averaging 15.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 4.9 steals. He also leads the Indians (11-1 TVL, 24-6 overall) with 35 blocked shots, and his 141 steals are a new program record. Paschini has signed to Humboldt State for football.

“He had a very good year offensively and defensively,” Ripon coach Rod Wright said. “Whenever the chips were down he was the one who took the shot.”

Kole Gaglio (20 ppg, 8.4 rpg) from TVL runner-up Hilmar (9-3, 17-10) is the Most Outstanding Player. Wright was named Coach of the Year. For the girls, Arielle Tala (8.5 ppg) of first-place Mountain House (11-1, 18-9) Hailey Chavez (15.9 ppg, 8.0 rpg) are MVP and Most Outstanding, respectively. Mountain House’s Reno Ursal is girls Coach of the Year.

Ripon guards Noah Hernandez (19.3 ppg) and Cole Stevens (12.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.8 apg) are among the All-TVL boys team selections. Hernandez poured in a season-high 38 points in a league game at Riverbank. Stevens is a four-time all-league selection and was Most Outstanding Player as a junior. Kyle Sisk made honorable mention.

Ripon Christian’s Zach Cortright (10.5 ppg) made all-league after earning MVP honors a year ago. Knights center Andrew Vander Weide (14.5 ppg) makes his first appearance on the list. Jadon Vander Molen and Ty Beidleman earned honorable mention.

Ripon Christian (17-11) travels to Head-Royce on Wednesday for the first round of the CIF State Division V Northern California Regional Championships. Ripon is heading to Corning in Division IV.

Ripon (14-13) has two all-league girls in freshman Reina Sausedo (12.7 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 4.0 spg) and Savannah Clark (5.8 ppg, 8.5 rpg). Felicia Ceja was named honorable mention.

Ripon Christian (14-15) is represented by freshman Morgan Van Elderen (7.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg) on the all-league team. Beth Weststeyn, Kelly Engle and Renae Heida earned honorable mention for the Knights, who take on top-seeded Eastside College Prep in NorCals.
