Jane Smith-Baxley, passed away on June 25, 2017 in Reno, Nevada.
  Born Sarah Jane Eavenson on April 28 1923.  Sarah was the last surviving of eight children born to Alfred Eavenson and Myrtle Minnick Eavenson.  She was preceded in death by  her parents and five sisters and two brothers.
  Sarah lived in Ripon, California for many years
and worked as a Histology Technician at Millers Medical Lab in Modesto. When she retired she moved to Nevada.
  She enjoyed spending time with her family and was active in her church.
As a Sunday school teacher with a deaf child in her class she learned sign language and then went on to teach sign language to others.
She enjoyed helping with the childrens choir and the holiday pageants. She also sang many solos in church. Sarah had a beautiful voice.
  When she was 80 years old Sarah traveled this country with her nephew Ralph Duane Eavenson in search of family history. Their travels took them to New Mexico, Missouri, Mississippi, Tennessee and Oklahoma  They searched grave yards, birth records, marriage records and death records. They also visited old family homesteads.
  Sarah leaves behind four children, sons - Thomas  Smith (Dorothy) of Sparks, Nevada and Ralph Smith (Kathy) of  Fallon, Nevada.   Daughters Karen Jackson of Stevinson, California and Sheryl Kearns of Moundhouse, Nevada.  16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.
  She was preceded in death by son Paul Leslie Smith, grandsons Michael William Smith and Rondel Lee Smith and by great grandsons Lance Smith and Cody Gibson.
  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Smith Family Funeral Home, 505 Rio Vista Drive in Fallon.
