Manteca Buffs roll past CBS

SACRAMENTO – Dom Rea ground out 182 yards on 15 carries to lead Manteca to a 24-0 win over Christian Brothers-Sacramento in non-league sophomore football action Friday at Sacramento City College’s Hughes Stadium.
Rea had a 1-yard scoring plunge in the fourth quarter. Isaac Searcy scored on 1- and 8-yard runs in the first period.
Garren Genilla spent most of the evening in the Falcons backfield with four sacks, two more tackles for a loss, a forced fumble and fumble recovery. Junior Escobar (interception) and Gabe Ramirez added six stops apiece, Evans Nicholas (fumble recovery) had four tackles and Bryan Resendez three.       

East Union 56, Ceres 0
CERES – The Lancers ran up 412 yards of offense at Ceres High.
East Union’s Dennis Crum had four carries for 110 yards with three of those carries good for touchdowns from 22, 30 and 34 yards out. 
Eric Morales was 3 of 6 passing for 51 yards with a 42-yard scoring pass to Nicco Cedolini. Leo Bonilla (five carries, 72 yards) had a 4-yard touchdown run, Jonathan Ponce added a 39-yard touchdown run, Julian Garcia scored from 29 yards out and Alex Duenes powered in a touchdown from 3 yards out.

Ripon Christian 34, Hughson 7
HUGHSON – Trailing 7-6 at halftime the Knights put up 28 second-half points while blanking the Huskies in the third and fourth quarters.
Jacob Van Groningen led a balanced Ripon Christian attack, going 7 of 9 passing for 141 yards with a touchdown pass to Ian Vrieling (three receptions, 96 yards). Drake Nelson (seven carries, 53 yards) and Jadon Booth (six carries, 40 yards) each had a touchdown run.
Cole Gemmell returned two interceptions for Knights touchdowns. Danton Indelicato made 11 tackles for Ripon Christian and Wyatt Nichelson had seven stops.

Freshman
Christian Brothers 13, Manteca 12
The Buffaloes trailed 13-0 entering the third quarter and scored twice in the final period but could not make a conversion in the one-point loss at Guss Schmiedt Field.
After a 43-yard touchdown run earlier in the fourth quarter Krys Charles (eight carries for 67 yards, 125 all-purpose yards) spotted Jonathon Aranda with a 20-yard touchdown pass with 20 seconds left in the game. The two-point conversion attempt failed.
Victor Martinez had 19 carries for 134 yards for Manteca and Lorenzo Ceja was 3 of 5 passing for 18 yards with all three passes good for a first down.
Charles intercepted a pass and broke up two. Victor Martinez and Oscar Anaya each had nine tackles and a tipped pass. Destin De La Torre added seven tackles and a tipped pass and Jesus Gonzalez made four tackles and broke up two passes.
