Richard Rudolph Richina, 89, of Angels Camp, California, passed away August 27, 2017 of natural causes.  He was born January 12, 1928 in Manteca, California to Albert James and Rhobia Belle Richina.
   He received his bachelor degree in Dairy Science, teaching credential and Master Degree in ag-education from California State Polytechnic College, San Louis Obispo, and received his Master Degree in Counseling and Counseling Credential from the University of Pacific.
   He was an Agricultural Instructor at both Manteca High and East Union; his teaching and students were his life.  He joined Modesto Junior College as an instructor and counselor in the MJC Agriculture Department in 1968 where he taught until he retired in 1990.
   He received his 50 year pin from the Grange in 2005 and was inducted into the Manteca Hall of Fame for Agriculture in 2006.
   He enjoyed raising sheep, pigs and cattle.  He often played golf with his many friends and his brother.  He enjoyed spending time with his family going camping and fishing.  His most loved memories were being involved with the San Joaquin County Fair Board, a County Fair Judge and the continued promotion of agriculture.
   He left college and enlisted in 1946 and served in the United States Army as a Key Punch Operator until 1947.
   He is survived by his wife Delia Toberer Richina, sister Marjorie Moorman; four children, Catherine Richina Fatzer; Richard Richina and wife Sharon, Christina Richina Hughey and husband Less, Cynthia Richina Gabert and husband Herbert; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; five step-children Carry Burrell, Rene Nolte, Colleen D’Annunzio, Michael Toberer and wife Michelle, Brain Toberer and wife Jenny; 15 step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren.
   He is preceded in death by his parents and deceased first wife Florence Evelyn Pickrel Richina; one brother Albert Richina and sister-in-law Rose Richina.
   The rosary/mass will be held at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, 820 S. Main Street, in Angels Camp, September 9, at 9 a.m.  Following mass his interment will be held at the Angels Camp Catholic Cemetery.
   Contributions in memory of Richard can be made to the Manteca Historical Society & Museum, P.O. Box 907, Manteca, CA 95336
   A celebration of life will be held on September 30, from 1-3 p.m. at 11200 E. Moncure Rd., Ripon, CA 95366.
