Cowan’s home run leads Modesto over Lancaster in 11 innings

LANCASTER (AP) — Jordan Cowan hit a three-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to lead the Modesto Nuts to an 8-5 win over the Lancaster JetHawks on Wednesday.

The home run by Cowan scored Joey Curletta and Luis Liberato.

The JetHawks tied the game 5-5 in the ninth when Avery Romero hit a two-run double as part of a three-run inning.

Reliever Joe Pistorese (1-2) went one scoreless inning, allowing one hit while striking out one and walking one to get the win. Marc Magliaro (4-3) went two innings, allowing three runs and two hits in the California League game. He also struck out two and walked two. Bryan Bonnell retired the side in order for his fourth save of the season.

Eric Filia homered twice and singled, driving home three runs and scoring a couple in the win.

Hamlet Marte homered and singled for the JetHawks.

Garrett Hampson homered and singled.
