Pick-six highlights Jr. Buffs’ loss

Nicolas Schatmeier returned an interception 65 yards for a Manteca Jr. Buffaloes touchdown in a 42-14 loss Saturday to the Merced Bears in Cen-Cal varsity football action.
Manteca’s Daymari Cox had seven carries for 40 yards with a touchdown and three receptions for 30 yards. Dallas Kaleimamahu was 5 of 10 passing for 70 yards and had three carries for 16 yards and Francisco Ramirez added 55 yards on 12 carries.
Dylan DePrater was in on 10 tackles for the Buffaloes, Schatmeier six and Damien Davis five.
Junior varsity
Bears 24, Jr. Buffs 6
Colton Stonum had 150 all-purpose yards for the Jr. Buffaloes.
Stonum had 89 passing yards and eight carries for 62 yards. Hayden Keller added 62 yards on three receptions and Larell Fountain rushed for 72 yards.
Keller had eight tackles, Alexea Steele six, Ricardo Villalvazo four with a touchdown and Skyler Lipsett two.

Bears 32, Jr. Buffs 25
Quinn Martinez ran for 50 yards and had a rushing touchdown for the Buffaloes.
Noah Navarro added 40 yards on five receptions for a touchdown; Dylan Stonum had one touchdown on 40 yards rushing and Maddox Melendez returned an interception for 35 yards.
Carson Sablan tallied 45 yards on 15 carries and Lucas Fountain had four tackles.
Brody Carabello had 33 yards rushing and 14 passing for the Jr. Buffaloes.
Madden Melendez (23 yards rushing) and Andrew Salmeron (20 yards rushing) each had 7 receiving yards.
Brody Carabello led the Manteca defense with eight tackles. Melendez added five tackles, De Anthony Hackett four and Salmeron two.
