Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
I sit here the day after our Soroptimist Dream it Be it event and I am filled with so much gratitude.  This project depended on so many moving parts and Saturday they all came together.  Thank goodness we had the use of the Boys & Girls club facility and for them speaking to Panda Express who provided our wonderful lunch. Thank you for partnering with us on this project.
Thank you to Danette Jarred of Monogram Magic for making the t-shirts and swag bags we gave each participant. Thank you, Matt Harper Photography for providing the photo booth and to Michelle Brietmaier and Mimi Harper making sure we got fun pictures to take home with us.  Thank you, Kohl Cares for helping out the day of the event.  The Interact clubs of Manteca Unified are unbelievable.  These young people came and helped set-up on Friday and helped at the end of our event to clean-up.  They represent the best of our young people.
SSJID provided us with a generous grant which helped us provide an even better event as well as some items for our swag bags.  Dr. John Trueb provided us with dental care items to give to the girls.  We were pleased to have Manteca Police to provide two officers, Sean Caven and Misty Coleman, who shared some incites to bullying and being a police officer.  Sarah Nunes talked about working in the airline industry and Lissa Gilmore from San Joaquin County Office of Education talked about STEM which helped the girls see many opportunities.  Thank you also to Dan Kaiser from Moore’s Karate for teaching the girls a few personal safety moves
. I would like to thank my fellow Soroptimists for all that you did to make sure we had a successful event.  As a member of Soroptimist International of Manteca I am very thankful to all that helped in making sure we were able to work to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
