Manteca Rec lunch with ‘The Count’ on Oct. 28

Manteca Parks and Recreation is hosting a Halloween doubleheader for kids and their parents,
“Lunch with Dracula” takes place on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. while a carnival and haunted house is from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane.
The lunch includes hot dogs and chips with plenty of photo ops with Dracula. There also will be cookie decorating, crafts and face painting. No spectators are allowed.
The cost is $6 per person. Tickets are available on a presale basis only at the Manteca Parks & Recreation office, 252 Magnolia Ave. A combo discount ticket is available for $10 for lunch as well as the carnival and haunted house.
The haunted house is designed for preschool through sixth grade. It includes games, arts and crafts, costume contests and treats. The costume contest starts at 2:30 p.m.
The haunted house may not be suitable for all children.
The cost is $5 per child at the door. There is no charge for parents.

Halloween dinner,
dance on Oct. 27
The Manteca Senior Center is hosting “Dine and Dance at the Bat Cave” on Friday, Oct. 27, from 5 to 9 p.m.
The event at the senior center, 295 Cherry lane, is for those 40 years and older.
Tickets are $8 per person and are available until Oct. 25 at the senior center front desk. No tickets will be sold at the door.
The dinner menu includes chicken fajitas, Spanish rice, beans, salad, dessert and beverage.
There will be costume contests for the most original, scariest, and best overall. Costumes are not required for entry.

Trunk or Treat
Refuge Church, 486 Button Ave., will be hosting its annual Trunk-or-Treat on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
This will be a safe and fun event for families to show off their costumes and fill up on sweets. Please contact the Refuge Church office at 209-239-1371 if you would like to enter your car into the trunk decorating contest.
