Judging by the demand over the last two years, the hottest tickets to get in February are to the Manteca Youth Advisory Commission’s father-daughter dance.
This year’s theme is “Daddy’s Little Super Girl!” There are two dates to choose from for the evening at the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane. They are Friday, Feb. 23, and Saturday, Feb. 24, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. each evening.
The event is designed for fathers, uncles and grandfathers and their daughters, nieces and granddaughters. The evening offers dinner, music, dancing, and fun.
Tickets thru Feb. 16 are $25 per couple and $5 for each additional girl. After Feb. 16 the tickets jump to $35 per couple and $8 for each additional girl.
Tickets must be paid for with either cash or check are sold in advance at the recreation office at 252 Magnolias Ave. or at the senior center. The event may sell out as it did last year so there is no guarantee that tickets will be sold at the door. Due to limited capacity no spectators are allowed.

Centennial Pancake
Breakfast Saturday
Manteca is kicking off its 100th year with a Centennial Pancake Breakfast.
It takes place Saturday, Jan. 20, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane.
Recreation Supervisor Brandy Clark said besides helping fund activities planned to mark the centennial in May — the city actually incorporated on May 28, 1918 — it will also serve as a chance for people to be updated on planned activities.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children 10 and under. You can purchase tickets in advance at the Manteca Parks & Recreation office at 252 Magnolia Ave., or the Manteca Senior Center.
The breakfast will consist of birthday pancakes, link sausage, Swiss eggs, string cheese, fruit, coffee, juice, and milk.
There will also be a silent auction, 50/50 raffle as well as raffle drawings.
