Jennifer Ann Alves and Matthew Gerard Toepel of Sacramento are announcing their plans to wed on August 21, 2010. A reception will be held at the California Automobile Museum in Old Town Sacramento with an Old Hollywood-style theme.

The bride-elect is the daughter of John and Claudette Alves of Manteca. She is the granddaughter of Deolinda Alves. Her siblings are Erik and Matthew Alves.

Jennifer graduated from Manteca High School and attended the University of California at Davis and followed her bachelor’s degree with a Juris Doctorate from McGeorge School of Law, graduating with honors. She is currently assistant city attorney of the City of Elk Grove.

The benedict-elect is the son of Carl and Irma Toepel. His siblings are Chris Toepel, Michelle Casias, Monique Perez and Jose Perez.

Matthew received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas and went on to receive his master’s in business administration at California State University, Sacramento.

Matthew currently works at State Street, a financial services provider, as a senior trading liaison.

Jennifer and Matthew were engaged on the anniversary of their first date while on a wine tasting trip to the Napa Valley.
