MILFORD, N.Y. — The Bomberz Baseball 12-under baseball team out of Stockton bombed away in the Week 2 American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament and Mantecan Dominic Pisano was in on the action.

The top-seeded Bomberz won the second of 13 weekly tournaments held at Cooperstown Dreams Park, thrashing the No. 3 Georgia Roadrunners of Alpharetta, Ga. 14-0 in the championship round. The Week 2 tournament took place June 13-18 and featured 104 teams from across the nation.

The team crushed four home runs in its final-round contest and ended up with 66 in the 11 games it played.

Pisano, who also plays in the major division of Manteca Little League, started at center field for the tournament and had eight jacks while breaking the tournament record for most leadoff home runs hit.

Pisano’s final bomb led off the title game. Teammate Ryan Kreidler of Davis pitched a perfect game and struck out 10 in the mercy-shortened affair. It was the first perfect game thrown in a title match in the tournament’s 14 years of existence.

The Bomberz went 6-0 going into tournament play and finished 11-0 overall. In pool play, they routed their six opponents by a combined score of 141-6.

They opened the single-elimination tournament with a 15-0 drubbing of Florida Warriors Baseball and went on to beat West Pine Nike Cobras (Florida), 14-2, Jacksonville Blue Claws (Florida), 7-1, and Texas Nationals, 6-3, before taking on the Georgia Roadrunners.

Bomberz Baseball was formed three years ago. Though based in Stockton, the team has players from the Bay Area, Sacramento area and Central Valley.
