Area Little Leagues begin postseason all-star tourneys

This weekend will mark the beginning of the 2010 District 67 All-Star Tournament for area little leaguers picked to participate in three different age divisions. Manteca, Northgate, Weston Ranch, and Spreckels Park Little Leagues will begin action over three different locations.  

The 11-12-year-old tournament will get under way at Salida Park hosted by Salida Little League. Manteca and Weston Ranch will begin action Saturday at 8:30 a.m. with Spreckels Park meeting up with Tracy National at 11:30 a.m. Northgate and Tracy American are set to do battle at 2:30 p.m. and Lathrop and Mountain House will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The Manteca-Weston Ranch winner will face Patterson Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and the Spreckels Park-Tracy National winner will play host to Salida Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

The 10-11-year-old tournament will be hosted by Manteca Little League at Lincoln Fields. Spreckels Park and Lathrop will kick off action Saturday at 9 a.m. with Manteca and Weston Ranch following at noon. Northgate and Tracy National will meet up at 3 p.m. with the winner taking on the Salida-Tracy American winner Sunday at 1 p.m.

In the 9-10-year-old tournament action hosted by Lathrop Little League, Manteca will open against Tracy American “B” Saturday at 10 a.m., with Northgate and Tracy National “B” set for a 10 a.m. first pitch as well. Weston Ranch and Tracy American “A” are set for a 1:30 p.m. start as is Spreckels Park and Patterson.

The Spreckels-Patterson winner will meet up with tournament host Lathrop at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Salida will open tournament play against the Weston Ranch-Tracy American “A” winner also at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

All 9-10-year-old tournament plays will be held at Mossdale Community Park.
