Lancers remain perfect in VOL play

The East Union High varsity girls golf squad improved to 7-0 in the Valley Oak League, defeating Sonora Wednesday at the Manteca Park Golf Course.
Medalist Jillian Goulart led the way, shooting a two-over-par 39 in the nine-hole course.

Frances Telles shot a 43 for the Lancers.

Other finishers were Selena Toscareno (47), Jane Kener (49), Angelique Cardoza (51) and Jordan Vinson (58).

East Union will play today against Kimball at Old River Golf Course in Tracy.

Volleyball
Ripon High (3-0 in Trans Valley League, 15-1) went three games in defeating visiting Hughson, 25-5, 25-13, 25-5.

Kelsey Johnston led the Indians with 11 aces, 17 assists, and seven kills.

Cheyann DePrue chipped in with six aces.

“Based on the competition, we were still on our game,” said Ripon coach Larry Keethe.

His team is expected to face stiff TVL competition Monday at Modesto Christian.

In the sophomore match, Ripon swept Hughson, 3-0.

The Indians also took the freshmen match, needing four games to beat Hughson, 3-1.

Both Ripon teams improved to 3-0 in the TVL.
