East Union High graduate and 2008-2009 Valley Oak League Most Valuable Player Ashley Rose was named the California Pacific Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her standout play Nov. 16-23 for William Jessup University.

Rose led the Warriors by averaging 26 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, two steals and a block in a pair of Warrior losses. The Warriors dropped a 55-52 conference game to Fresno Pacific and an 85-73 loss to Westminister College of Salt Lake City.

Rose is the lone standout on the Warriors club this season, leading William Jessup in scoring (13.8 ppg) and rebounding (4.4 rpg) her sophomore season. The club is currently 0-7 on the young season, but has already dropped a pair of contests by four points or less.

Rose has already dropped a dozen 3-pointers in the seven games and is shooting 86-percent from the free throw line. Rose has been a model of consistency, scoring 15 points in the season-opener and putting together her best performance thus far with 32 points in the Warriors’ loss to Westminster.

Rose excelled in her high school career, being named the Bulletin’s All-Area Player of the Year in 2009 after leading the Lancers to their third straight conference championship and a Sac-Joaquin Section Division III semifinal appearance against St. Mary’s, which went on to win the state title.

Rose will try to help lead her Warriors into the win column Monday when they travel to Ashland, Ore. To meet up with Sothern Oregon University.
