Shelby Christeson and Sonny Bulen, of San Diego, were married in a double ring ceremony on Sept. 4, 2010 in a backyard wedding at the Hogan residence in Ripon.

The bride is the daughter of Chris and Sandy Christeson of Manteca. She is the granddaughter of Allea and Pat Franscella of Manteca.

The groom is the son of Roy and Sheila Bulen of Manteca. He is the grandson of Xavier and Rita Basquez of Las Vegas.

The bride was escorted by her father Chris Christeson and the ceremony was officiated by Dave Blanco.

The bride wore an A-line gown with sweetheart neckline embellished with crystal and taffeta ruches  asymmetrically around the bodice as the skirt draped to the side hip and covered buttons adorned the back bodice to a chapel length train. She carried a bouquet of white roses and she wore her aunt’s bridal veil.

Her maid of honor was Kelsey Christeson and bridesmaids were Samantha Bulen, Melissa Bulen and Hanah Bazaldua all of Manteca.

The best man was Rocky Bulen of Manteca and ushers were Donnie Berg of San Diego and Russell Blankenship and Blaire Bazaldua of Manteca.

The photographer was About Face.
A reception for 180 guests was held at the Ripon Community Hall in Ripon and included guests from Georgia, Montana, and Arizona.

Shelby graduated from East Union High School in 2006 and CSU Stanislaus in 2010 and received her B.S. degree in business. She is employed at Marriott’s Residence Inn in San Diego.

Sonny graduated from Sierra High School in 2006 and a graduate of SWCC school in the U.S. Navy and is a Special Warfare Combatant Craft Crewman (SWCC).
