Apparently the Lancers are charitable sorts.

For the second straight day East Union sent home a Stockton opponent home without the muscle wear and joint strain of two superfluous innings.

After a 12-2 beat-down of Stagg Friday night, the Lancers smacked Chavez 11-1 Saturday in a make-up contest at Agostini Field.

Frank Bailey got the start and was fantastic, allowing no runs on one hit with five strikeouts and just one walk.

Joe Modesto (1 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 1 K) and Marshall Swift (1 IP, 1 K, 1 BB) closed it out.

“It was a solid performance,” Lancers head coach Dan Triglia said. “All three of our pitchers pitched well, and the defense was sound.”

The Lancers committed just one error, and racked up 13 hits.

Swift and Ryan Sage both went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs, while Steve Weddington was 2 for 4 with an RBI of his own.

Dakota Anderson had a double and a stolen base.

East Union scored three through the first two and broke it wide open with a six-spot in the third.

“We put the ball in play really well,” Triglia said.

East Union (2-0) hosts Patterson Monday at 3:30 p.m.
