Manteca FC U12 girls tryouts today

New coach Paul Diniz is looking for additional girls to add to the Manteca Futbol Club’s under-12 girls team.

Tryouts are today 6-7:30 p.m. at Woodward Park’s Field 3. Girls must be born between Aug. 1, 1998 and July 31, 1999.

FIREBALLS TRYOUTS: The under-13 Premier Tracy Fireball girls soccer team is holding tryouts Feb. 15 and 17 at Tracy Sports Complex. Times are from 6:30-8 p.m.

Players must be born between Aug. 1, 1997 and Aug. 1, 1998.

ODYSSEY TRYOUTS:
The California Odyssey 18-under competitive fastpitch softball team is looking for dedicated players for the upcoming summer season.

MAYHEM TRYOUTS:
The Mayhem Fastpitch 10-under travel team is looking for a solid third baseman/middle infielder.

The team only carries 10 on its roster so that everyone gets maximum playing time. Mayhem will play 16-18 tournaments over the spring and summer with plans on competing at nationals.

BASKETBALL

MODESTO JC TOURNEY:
North American Youth Sports is holding its annual spring youth basketball tournament at Modesto Junior College on April 15-17.

The tournament will feature 10 different age and gender-based brackets: 5th-6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade, 9th-10th grade and 11th-12th grade.

The entry fee is $125 and guarantees each team a minimum of two games. Awards will be presented in each bracket.

Deadline to enter your team is March 25.

JAGUARS SIGNUPS:
Manteca Jaguars football and cheer signups are set for today and Feb. 23 from 7-9 p.m. at Round Table Pizza near Big League Dreams.

Registration costs $50 for football and $30 for cheer. Each athlete must pay a $100 participation fee. Payments can be arranged, and fundraising is available. Cheerleaders must also pay for the cost of the uniforms.

COWBOYS SIGNUPS:
Open signups for youth football players ages 6-14 and cheerleaders ages 5-14 are on Thursday, Feb. 10 at Mountain Mike’s Pizza from 6-8 p.m.

Signups will continue every other week — Feb. 24, March 10 and 24, April 2 and 3 (during the Street Faire), April 7 and 21 and May 5 and 19.

Space is limited to 30 players per football roster. Everyone is guaranteed playing time, and there are no boundaries.

There are no roster limits and no tryouts for cheer.

MANTECA BABE RUTH: The next round of signups for Manteca Babe Ruth’s 13-year-old, 14-15-year-old and the new 16-18-year-old divisions are set for Feb. 12 and 19 at the Mountain Mike’s Pizza in Manteca from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The fee is $150 per player.

BMX

The Spreckels Park BMX track in Manteca holds American Bicycle Association BMX-sanctioned races on Sunday afternoons. Signups to participate are from 2-4 p.m. with races beginning soon after.

Required equipment includes a helmet, long sleeves or elbow pads and long pants. Bicycles will go through a safety check at the track.

You must be an ABA member to race. Memberships can be obtained on race day. An annual membership costs $45, and the fee to enter a race is $10. Admission is free for spectators, and the track is open on non-race days from dawn to dusk, free of charge.
