Ewell Clifford Carder, 90, entered into rest on Sunday, May 8, in Manteca. He was born on January 16, 1921 in Hartville, MI. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years Grace Carder as well as his parents and 7 siblings.

He leaves behind his daughters; Bernice Wilson and Barbara Sousa, both of Manteca. He was blessed with 4 grandchildren; John Wilson and wife Valerie of ND, Bill Wilson of NV, Ann Wilson and husband Oran of MI, and Joe Sousa of Manteca. He leaves numerous grea-grandchildren and 1 great-grandbaby.

Ewell was a resident of the Central Valley living in both Manteca and Modesto. He was a diesel mechanic for the earlier part of his life. His wife and daughters were an enormous part of his life and he loved his wife till his last days. He enjoyed gardening and being out doors. He truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Ewell looked forward to spending his days with his Senior Center Family were he was known as “Dad” and was loved by everyone there. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend; he will be missed dearly.

Arrangements for Mr. Carder are under the direction of P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Friday May 13, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the P.L. Fry & Son Chapel. He will be laid to rest privately alongside his wife at Parkview Cemetery.
