Area standouts recognized with postseason awards

Several of the Manteca area athletes have earned all league status for spring high school sports.

Oakdale High walked away with the major awards for Valley Oak League soccer with Alfredo Quiroga recognized as the coach of the year and standout Morgan Kinyon earning most valuable player honors.

Sierra High landed three players on the All-VOL first team with Stephanie Vanni, Sydnee Koscielecki and Joanna Ortiz all earning berths. Manteca High saw Jimi Guibor take the goal-keeper nod and Abby Rosas, Sammy Morris and Jessica Reeder all landing first team slots. Lathrop’s Toree Iniguez made first team as well.

East Union had freshmen Regina Dias and Isela Rivera honored on the team. Reanna Schmitt, Leilani Villasenor, Meghan Wallace and Rachel Sianezall earned second team berths, while Sierra’s Lia Unterholner was the second team goal keeper. Timberwolves Ashley Sohal and Diana Alfaro also were second team honorees. Manteca’s Breanne Hatfield, Weston Ranch’s Marisa Bradshaw and Jasmine Quintero nabbed second team spots.

East Union’s Kianna Lamont, Eliana DaSilva, Kayla Lamont, Stephanee Sabala, Adrian Villasenor and Megan Howley were all honorable mention as were Manteca’s Sialei Manuleleua, Rocio Lopez, Esmeralda Cuenca and Airenne Curry.

Lathrop’s Illiana Martinez, Victoria Jaramillo and Stephanie Maduli were honorable mentions as well. Donna Ochoa and Patricia Angel earned honorable mention berth at Sierra. Weston Ranch’ss Julia Olaya, Jessica Ponce and Adriana Rodriguez were recognized from Weston Ranch.

Three Ripon Indians earned Trans Valley League recognition, with Sidtia Sidtkun, Rose Beller, Katherine Ratto and Ivone Serrano all landing a spot on the All-TVL soccer team. Teammate Breanna Mortimer was voted the Defensive MVP of the league.

The Southern League recognized five Ripon Christian Knights in its postseason accolades, with Kirsten Lown, Ashley Roberts and Beth Van Vliet all earning first-team ALL-SAL nods. Both Janelle Engel and Rachael Kinser were honorable mention.

The TVL’s softball awards honored three Indians, with Alissa Vickers, Nicole Kaiser and Taylor Vernon all earning ALL-TVL berths.
